Call for Papers
Kroeber Anthropological Society Journal
Language and Communication - Double Issue 104/105

Submission are now open for our upcoming double issue of KAS Papers.

Issue 104 will be a themed issue on the role of language and communication in Anthropology. Language and discourse breech the bounds of anthropological sub-disciplines, and we welcome papers that do the same. Language and discourse, semiotics and logic: these concepts present abundant opportunities for creative, and cross-cutting analyses of many topics, including but not limited to health and therapy, coercive force and political process, community formation and migration.

We ask you see beyond divides in the discipline, and we seek papers that take seriously the opportunities of language and communication inquiries transcend sub-disciplinary boundaries. We welcome papers from both inside and outside of anthropology that have not been published, nor are being considered for publication elsewhere.

Issue 105 will constitute a general issue of our journal, and we invite submissions from across the subdisciplines of sociocultural, biological, archaeological, medical, and linguistic anthropology.

Submissions for both Issues 104 and 105 should send a 300-word abstract to
kas@berkeley.edu no later than Friday, May 31, 2013.
